First and foremost: we're locals, and it's only fair to give back to our community. Since 2005 Killarney has been proud to regularly sponsor our local clubs, sporting groups, and charitable causes. Here's a small sample.
Starlight Children's Foundation
For Managing Director Michael's 40th Birthday, he seized the opportunity to make a difference. Inspired by the incredible work of Starlight Children's Foundation, Michael sought to support them by raising money. Even better, Killarney committed to match each dollar for the first $3000 - bumping the final donation up to over $10,000!
Killarney Homes is proud to be a member of The Red Cross Red 25 program.
Red25 is a unique giving program by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service uniting workplaces, community groups, schools and universities around Australia to save lives through blood donation.
Together, Red25 members work towards ensuring that 25% of Australia's blood donations are secured.
Royal Darwin Hospital has purchased a new, state-of-the-art portable ultrasound for its pediatrics ward.
The $9000 needed to buy the machine was raised by Breezes Muirhead with Killarney Homes contributing a significant portion.
The ultrasound, named Accuvein, helps medical staff find a suitable vein in which to place a cannula or to collect a blood sample, without touching the patient.
Palmerston Game Fishing Club
Killarney has been supporting junior angling in the Northern Territory through its high profile support of the Junior Angler Clinic. The Junior Angler Education Clinic was first launched by Palmerston Game Fishing Club in 2004. It aims to give 100 juniors between the ages of 8 to 15, an introduction to the sport and recreational activity that is angling!
Killarney has been involved with Kiva for a while now, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Every time we build a house, we help someone somewhere with their construction project in a developing nation.
